Abstract

The objective of this research Is to find out the effect of pollution control by way of the activated carbon addition and the managerial skill on efficiency of COD reduction. The study was conducted In the textile plant of PT. LQ Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulo Gadung, by using an experiment of 2 x 2 factorial design with n = BO samples selected randomly. The result of the Investigations show that (1) there Is highly significant difference efficiency of COD reduction for pollution control through the activated carbon addition between the low concentration and the high concentration. (2) for the high managerial skill, there Is no difference exists between the water pollution control through the activated carbon addition with the high concentration and the low concentration. (3) however for the low managerial skilI In the water pollution control by way of the activated carbon addition with the high concentration Is more efficient than the low concentration. (4) there Is significant Interaction effect between pollution control by way of the activated carbon addition and the managerial skill toward etency of COD reduction. Based on the research nndlngs I could be concluded that pollution control through the activated carbon addition with the low concentration and the high managerial skilI improve the efficlency of COD reduction in managing the textile Industrial wastewater.
