Abstract

Advances in communication media technology such as smartphones have an impact on children's low interest in reading. Assistance for children in regenerating interest in reading and increasing their creativity is very necessary. Communication style needs to be considered in an effort to increase interest in reading and creativity in children. The purpose of this research is to explain how the communication style of the Ciketingudik reading room community in increasing children's interest in reading and creativity. This research uses a qualitative approach as a method or way to achieve research’s purpose. In this research, the object is the communication style of the Ciketingudik Reading Room Community in effort to increasing children's interest in reading and creativity. And the research subject is the Ciketingudik Reading Room Community. The research location is in Ciketingudik Village, Bantar Gebang District, Bekasi City, West Java. The results showed that the Ciketingudik Reading Room Community used communication styles. in increasing efforts to increase children's reading interest and creativity, that is the equalitarian style, the dinamic style, the controlling style, the structuring style, dan the relinguishing style.
