Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the level of migrant welfare based on Migration Status and demographic characteristics, namely: (1) Gender; (2) Marital Status; and (3) Age. The research method used is quantitative, by processing secondary cross-sectional data from the 2018 National Social and Economic Survey (SUSENAS). Migrant welfare levels are grouped into: (1) Very Poor; (2) Not Prosperous; (3) Prosperous Enough; (4) Prosperous; and (5) Very Prosperous. The categories of migration status are recent migration and recent non-migrants, gender, marital status and age. The results showed that the migrant group was at 2 (two) extreme points, namely the Very Unprosperous and the Very Prosperous, while the non-migrant group was in a condition of Not Prosperous to Prosperous. Male migrant workers are in a very poor to very poor condition, while women are in a very prosperous to very prosperous position. Based on marital status, in the Other group, they are in a condition of Not Prosperous, Prosperous to Very Prosperous, while in the married group they are in Very Not Prosperous. Migrants aged 0 to 14 years are in a very poor and not prosperous condition, while those aged 65 years and over are in a very prosperous to very prosperous condition.
