Abstract

The learning method in higher education is still using the methods in the network (online). Through online learning, all forms of teaching and learning activities use platforms such as Zoom, google classroom, google meet, e-learning, and Whatsapp groups. In fact, changes in learning methods like this result in students having to be able to adapt to the new system so that this model cannot be said to be effective or not, so this study aims to compare the effectiveness of online learning for qualitative research methodology courses in fourth-semester students. The research method used is quantitative with comparative analysis. Respondents in this study amounted to 215 for those who filled out the pre-test questions and 212 who filled out the post-test questions. The data collection technique useda questionnaire in the form of qualitative pre-test and post-test questions distributed through Google form. The results of the T-test analysis showed that there was an increase in the pre-test and post-test scores as indicated by the mean pre-test value of 9.99 and the post-test value of 12.96 with a significance level of 0.00 (p<0.05). The results show that there is an increase in students' understanding ability after participating in online learning for 1 semester for qualitative research methodology courses.
